The difference in design between running shoes and badminton shoes
Sole material and slip resistance:
Running shoes: Rubber materials are usually used to achieve good shock absorption and grip, but their anti slip effect is relatively weak on plastic surfaces of badminton courts.
Badminton shoes: Equipped with a large area of raw rubber sole, the anti slip effect of raw rubber is better on plastic surfaces, ensuring stability for athletes during rapid movements and emergency stops.
Shoe upper material and support:
Running shoes: The mesh on the upper of the shoe has a relatively large proportion and better breathability, but the support is weak and cannot provide sufficient lateral support.
Badminton shoes: The upper is often made of fabric+PU or leather products, which have better wear resistance and will automatically deform to adapt to the shape of the foot after long-term use, providing better support and protection.
Design and Protection:
Running shoes: The design focuses more on shock absorption to reduce the impact of knees on the body during running.
Badminton shoes: Designed for the rapid turns, kicks, jumps, and other movements in badminton, they focus more on shock absorption, slip resistance, and protection. The back half of the shoe is relatively hard to protect the ankle, and the midsole material is made of a strong and lightweight special polymer, combined with a special pattern to protect the arch of the foot. The inner pattern of the sole is convex to enhance grip and slip resistance.
